I paint the things, places and creatures that make me want to look longer and more carefully than I might do otherwise. I greatly appreciate the opportunity to see what other artists have observed and to participate in that long tradition.

I was born in Philadelphia and have lived mostly in San Francisco for the past 40 years studying, painting and teaching.
